Welcome from the Head of School
Thank you for your interest in The Sammamish Montessori School (SMS).
At SMS, we believe in the magic of education. For 50 years, more than 5,000 children have embarked on this journey, guided by Montessori principles and supported by our dedicated teachers. We are one of only ten AMS-accredited Montessori schools in Washington State, with 25+ highly experienced, AMS-credentialed Montessori teachers and 30+ supporting staff.
Today, SMS offers one continuous Montessori journey, from Toddler (18 months) through Upper Elementary (Grade 5). This year, we are especially excited to introduce Montessori+ Pre-Elementary, our new signature Kindergarten year, together with the Elementary Pathway Experience (EPex), which locks tuition from Kindergarten through Grade 5.

Child-centered education and care
Our Montessori classrooms brim with exquisite, age-appropriate materials that cater to hands-on exploration, ensuring your child is constantly engaged. Montessori staff track and observe each student daily and get to know each student’s strengths and interests. They adeptly introduce students to new materials, aligning them with each child’s proficiency and curiosity. This allows children the autonomy to select activities they resonate with and progress at a rhythm that suits them.
As they grow, more is expected from our learners and they happily assume their leadership roles and enjoy their work. With expert guidance, the freedom to choose, and immersive learning materials, children not only gain foundational skills but also cultivate self-driven confidence, discipline, a desire to learn, and the courage to create.
