Four SMS Elementary students have been honored for their writing in the Young Inkling’s Book Contest this year. More than 200 young writers from 7 different states and 35 different cities submitted applications to this contest. Six SMS elementary students submitted entries. We are so proud of every one of our students and their hard work and creativity.
Two SMS elementary students were among the seven 1st-3rd grade story winners:
- Dillon Mareth (grade 3) won for, “Mike’s Beaver Tail.”
- Samantha Vargas (grade 3) won for, “Dusty.”
Two more SMS elementary students were 1st-4th grade finalists in this writing contest!
- Cassidy Mareth (grade 1) for, “Bunnies.”
- Molly Keller (grade 3) for, “The Yellow Star.”
Well done young inklings! And well done Mrs. Ang and Mrs. Goodman for guiding all of your students’ writing, inspiring creativity and a love of reading, writing, poetry and prose!
